Wednesday, first week of Lent (St. John of God)

March 8, 2017

JMJ

Blessed Ember Wednesday!

May God prosper your prayers and sacrifices to sanctify the coming season of Spring,
as we give thanks to Him for new life and light!

And Blessed St. John of God’s Day!

JohnofGod

He is patron of book binders, book sellers, dying people, firefighters, heart patients, hospitals, nurses, printers, publishers, and against alcoholism and sickness.

You can find his story here.

Readings:
I John 3:14-18 (We ought to lay down our lives for our brothers)
Psalm 112:1-9 “Blessed the one who gives to the poor”
+Matthew 25:31-40 (Whatever you did for one of the least brothers of Mine, you did for Me)

I am enamored
of the One
Who gave Himself
for me.

There’s nothing
I would rather be
than just like Him!

I follow
every move He makes
and imitate
with childlike glee
His selfless generosity.

What is God’s Love like?
Do I try to imitate Him, however clumsily?
