Sunday, First Week of Advent

November 27, 2016

Blessed New Year!

And Blessed “Stir up Sunday!”
This is a good day to “stir up” a plum pudding or fruitcake to age for Christmas.
Let each family member give it a good stir,
symbolizing the need to stir up our hearts
to prepare a celebration worthy of the coming of so great a King.

Today’s Jesse Tree
Creation: Genesis 1:1-2:25
Suggested symbol: globe
My prince made an origami paper ball & colored it blue & green
Clicking this link will open a document with the pictures I’m using: 1jesse-tree-pictures

In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.
Whatever He spoke
came to be.

In the beginning was the Word,
and the Word was with God,
and the Word was God.
He was in the beginning with God;
all things were made through Him,
and without Him was not anything made that was made
~John 1:1-3

This is the Word we await,
the Word Who would become flesh
and dwell among us (Jn 1:14).

And it was good
Then He came to man,
the crown of God’s creation:

Let us make man in Our image,
after Our likeness;
and let them have dominion
…over all the earth
~Genesis 1:26

God, Who’d had a Son in Heaven from all eternity,
now had a son on earth.

Adam, the son of God

And it was very good.

Then God rested.

May what You speak,
Your Son, Your Word,
come to be
in my life, Lord,
that I may be Your son, Your daughter,
here on earth,
that You may see and behold
once again
that it is very good.
