Monday, first week of Advent
Hear the Word of the Lord, O nations;
declare it to the distant lands:
Behold, our Savior will come;
you need no longer fear
Keep us alert, we pray, O Lord our God,
as we await the advent of Christ Your Son,
so that, when He comes and knocks,
He may find us watchful in prayer
and exultant in His praise.
Who lives and reigns with You in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, for ever and ever.
Isaiah 2:1-5 (All nations shall stream to the Lord’s mountain to learn the ways of peace)
Psalm 122:1-9 “I rejoiced when I heard them say: let us go to the house of the Lord”
+Matthew 8:5-11 (“I am not worthy to have You under my roof”)
is meant to be
a shelter and protection,
where we learn the ways of peace
and walk in light.
But this can only happen
when we come to it with confidence
when we rejoice
to gain the heights of God
where judgment reigns,
believing that the promises of God
will win the day.
This is the faith
that so amazes God
and wins His praise.
How can I benefit more fully from God’s authority, to bring healing and peace into my life?
How can I more fully use the authority He’s delegated to me, to bring healing and peace to others?
