Tuesday of Holy Week

April 15, 2014

JMJ

Blessed Tuesday!

Entrance Antiphon:

Do not leave me to the will of my foes, O Lord,
for false witnesses rise up against me and they breathe out violence.

Collect:
Almighty ever-living God,
grant us so to celebrate
the mysteries of the Lord’s Passion
that we may merit to receive Your pardon.
Through our Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son,
who lives and reigns with You in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, forever and ever. Amen.

Readings:
Isaiah 49:1-6 (God has prepared His servant for a mission to the whole world)
Psalm 71:1-6, 17 “I will sing of Your salvation”
+John 13: 21-33, 36-38 (Jesus predicts Judas’ betrayal & Peter’s denial)

He chose me
and He knows me
better than
I know myself.

He knows
I will betray Him
and deny…

and though it deeply troubles Him
He will not let it stop Him
from pursuing me
with kindness
whether I respond
or not.

Would I keep reaching out to someone if I knew they would never change?
Do let the behavior of others prevent me from being the person I most deeply want to be?
