Saturday, fourth week of Lent
Blessed St. Vincent Ferrer’s Day!
You can find his story here.
O chosen people, proclaim the mighty works of Him
who called you out of darkness into His wonderful light.
O God, who raised up the Priest Saint Vincent Ferrer
to minister by the preaching of the Gospel,
grant, we pray, that, when the judge comes,
whom Saint Vincent proclaimed on earth,
we may be among those blessed
to behold Him reigning in Heaven.
Who lives and reigns with You in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, forever and ever. Amen.
2 Timothy 4:1-5 (Proclaim the Word, whether people listen or not)
Psalm 40:2,4,7-11 “Here I am, Lord, I come to do Your will”
+Luke 12:35-40 (Be prepared for the Lord’s return)
There is a time for resting,
for reclining at the table,
being waited on
be Him Who came to serve.
It isn’t now!
This is the time
to have your belt on,
lamp in hand
and burning bright,
and fighting darkness
with a word of reprimand.
Don’t be put off
their own pleasures
to a world of fantasy.
They need to see
in speaking truth
despite the suffering
Am I persistent in God’s service when I meet with resistance or do I give up too easily?
