Monday, second week of Lent

March 17, 2014

Blessed St. Patrick’s Day!

You can find his story here.

We’re a little more than one-quarter of the way through our Lenten retreat. How’s it going?

Entrance Antiphon:
O chosen people, proclaim the mighty works of Him
who called you out of darkness
into His wonderful light.

O God, who chose the bishop St. Patrick
to preach Your glory to the peoples of Ireland,
grant, through his merits and intercession,
that those who glory in the name of Christian
may never cease to proclaim Your wondrous deeds to all.
Through our Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son,
who lives and reigns with You in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, forever and ever. Amen.

1 Peter 4:7-11 (May God be glorified in all you do)
Psalm 96:1-3, 7-8, 10 “Proclaim God’s marvelous deeds to all the nations”
+Luke 5:1-11 (Fear not, you will be fishers of men)

We’ve worked this lake
from dusk to dawn,
in unrelenting toil.

We haven’t caught a thing.

Our bones are sore.
No, it’s no use…
but just for You,
I’ll try again
(look like a fool,
before this crowd),
and cast the nets again.

The cry for help!
The nets are bursting!
Ships are sinking!
Fish are flopping

What happened?!

Who’s the work led by?
or by the Lord?

On this
hangs all the difference.

In prayer, do I tell God what to do, or do I let Him tell me what to do?
