Blessed Christmas Eve!
Behold, when the fullness of time had come,
God sent His Son into the world.
Come quickly, we pray, Lord Jesus,
and do not delay,
that those who trust in Your compassion
may find solace and relief in Your coming.
Who live and reign with God the Father
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, for ever and ever.
Readings (Mass in the morning):
2 Samuel 7:1-5, 8-11, 16 (The kingdom of David shall endure forever in the sight of the Lord)
Psalm 89:2-5, 27, 29 “For ever I will sing the goodness of the Lord”
+ Luke 1:67-79 (God swore to set us free to worship Him fearlessly)
The Lord has built a house for us,
a place to find salvation
in forgiveness of our sins,
free from the enemies
who rob us
of His grace;
a holy place
that’s full of light
This is the house He promised David,
that will stand the test of time,
where we can lift up holy hands
to worship Him
without the fear
our sins inspire.
They have been burned away
when we cast them
in His Heart.
He gives us peace
here in this world
within His Church.
Do I experience the Church as my home?
Do I allow Jesus to free me from fear, burning away my sins with the fire of His Love
in the Sacrament of Confession?
