Tuesday, Second Week of Lent
Give light to my eyes lest I fall asleep in death,
lest my enemy say: I have overcome him.
Guard Your Church, we pray, O Lord, in Your unceasing mercy,
and, since without You mortal humanity is sure to fall,
may we be kept by Your constant helps from all harm
and directed to all that brings salvation.
Through our Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son,
who lives and reigns with You in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, forever and ever. Amen.
Isaiah 1:10, 16-20 (let’s set things right)
Psalm 50:8-9, 16-17, 21, 23 “To the upright I will show the saving power of God”
Matthew 23:1-12 (leaders must be humble servants)
You’re running toward a cliff!
Don’t just slow down.
Don’t find a clever way
cover up your fault,
or point to others
You’ll still fall.
Take that same energy
and chase the goal
of life on high
God’s on your side!
He’s got the map.
He’s leading you
the surest way
if you’ll go.
What is God turning you away from?
What is He turning you toward?
What’s keeping you from acting on His directions?
